More about Health Care and their super-rich people, can you believe that these guys are earning more and more money from all of us, they really don't care about your health, what they really care about is PROFIT, that is!
This is by all means horrendous. Unfortunately most insurance companies do not cover "experimental" treatment. I haven't found one that covers cosmetic treatment. If they say it's not medically necessary and it is...do an appeal and contact your state insurance commissioner (usually contact after the 1st appeal denial...but if it had serious medical urgency like this video...I would contact them immediately). Review your handbook for appeal processes...there is so much information there and very few people ever even open a page.
1.) Be proactive in your health coverage. Review your policies KNOW what is and is not covered. If you need coverage for a particular ailment and it is not covered in your existing policy check with your employer (if employer-sponsored health plan) or agent to see what it takes to get it covered. Each policy is different. If it is an item that is covered you do have an appeal process...your first sentence should always be "I am appealing your decision....". Go to your policy book...is it a covered item...reference this. Also each state has an insurance commissioner...contact them for help...that is one of their tasks. Oh by the way...it doesn't help to yell at the customer service representative, get all the information you can from them...they are there to help you and sometimes you are not going to hear what you want...remember you can ask for a supervisor if you are not getting the information you need. A person on the phone usually cannot change the ruling...there is an appeal process.
2.) I do believe that (if there is not already) should be caps on salaries of CEO's of health care companies and other companies where people pay for services such as this.
